This is the first of multiple steps, the last being the payment of your dues. There are two Membership Types – “Members/Renewals-Online Newsletter Only” OR “Members/Renewals-Online&Hardcopy Newsletter”. Select one when joining or renewing.

What’s in a LCCI Membership?

There’s a lot to be considered these days when it comes to membership in an organization like the Lambda Car Club International (LCCI) as compared to other collectible or special interest car clubs and groups. Sure, there are a host of other LGBTQ+ car hobby groups that don’t charge a fee to join, but what is it you get for free?

For example, your dues go far in providing you and fellow members with many benefits, some of which you may… or may not know, like:

  • LCCI publishes its national newsletter/magazine, Driveshaft, both electronically and in print;
  • LCCI provides a vast membership database via our website that can be accessed by any dues-paying member, which also provides a vehicle database, car classified advertisements, a national calendar of events sharable by all regions and fun, interactive activities, like car-oriented surveys and international publication sharing;
  • LCCI manages a schedule of upcoming Grand Invitationals, working with host regions to plan for the events;
  • LCCI provides national insurance coverage for all of its regional club events, as well as nation-wide insurance coverage for both regional and national directors and officers as they conduct club business;
  • LCCI’s national board serves as a sounding panel when a membership concern arises in any region that may require a review for resolution for all parties involved;
  • LCCI also hosts social media outreach daily, most actively on Facebook; and
  • LCCI is managed by an elected national board and regional officers, and staffed by a club administrator, website coordinator and social media director, all who are volunteers.

Without its internal national board and regional leadership structure, LCCI would not be able to cover all of the benefits listed above. In fact, without paying membership dues, each region would have to do quite a bit of work, including:

  • Build its own website, or subscribe to a third-party website to:
    • Process membership dues;
    • Maintain an events calendar;
    • Process event registrations and collect event fees;
    • Maintain a membership database; and
    • Provide help-desk support to members having issues with its website.
  • Obtain its own insurance policies (or take the risk of operating without insurance);
  • Obtain its own tax exemption from the IRS; and
  • Prepare and file its own tax returns.

In addition, there would be no national newsletter (Driveshaft), national membership database or nationwide communications (emails, social media posts, etc.).


So, yeah, LCCI requires membership dues to keep this great club what it is … a fantastic venue for the LGBTQ+ community who are enthusiasts for vintage and modern cars and trucks … and all things with wheels.
